Xiaomi’s has managed to carve out a vibrant market for its hugely popular Redmi Note series smartphones. The latest in this series Redmi Note 7 which was launched in China on January 2019, it has already sold more than 5 million units globally. Considering the 6-months upgrade cycle being followed by Xiaomi in the Redmi Note series, it is being widely rumored that the Redmi Note 8 smartphone is expected to be launched in August 2019. Redmi’s GM Lu Weibing has put an end to all rumors and speculations and has confirmed that the company is working on the Redmi Note 8 and it will be launched soon. The Redmi Note 8 is a highly anticipated budget smartphone from Xiaomi in 2019. The details about the expected specifications and tentative launch date of this smartphone are provided below:

Expected Specifications

Xiaomi has confirmed that it is working on the Redmi Note 8 smartphone. This smartphone is expected to be considerably faster and provide a smoother end-user experience compared to its predecessor- Redmi Note 7. Currently, Xiaomi has successfully managed to keep the specifications of this upcoming budget smartphone under wraps. However, rumors are rife about this much-anticipated budget smartphone from Xiaomi in 2019. It is widely being anticipated that the upcoming Redmi Note 8 will be powered by the newly launched MediaTek Helio G90 processor. It may also be the first smartphone from Xiaomi to come with a 64MP camera. It is also likely to use Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor which was launched in May 2019. This sensor has a pixel size of 0.8 microns and it supports Tetracell technology. In low-light situations, the camera on the Redmi Note 8 will use 16MP with a pixel size of 1.6 microns.

Tentative Launch Date

Xiaomi has been following a fast upgrade cycle with its hugely popular Redmi Note series. It is upgrading the smartphones of Redmi Note series in every 6 months. Considering the Redmi Note 7 was launched in January 2019 in China and it is expected that the Redmi Note 8 will be launched by end of August 2019. Xiaomi is organizing an innovation event in China on August 7 which is expected to unveil its first-ever 64MP camera on a smartphone. It is anticipated that the Redmi Note 8 will be the first smartphone from Xiaomi sporting a 64MP camera. However, till the smartphone is officially launched, you should take all these rumors with a pinch of salt.
