Is there a problem with your Laptop Screen, Did you Drop it?

Laptops troubleshooting are not a tough task. This is because they face common issues that are easy to be identified. There is a need to determine the problem cause logically and to stay calm. It can be a simple issue as well.

However, dropping a laptop may result in damaging screen or even the components causing malfunctioning. Determining the screen issue cause is a must to consider laptop troubleshooting. In case there is minimal damage, it can be repaired as DIY, but in case of extensive damage, a professional needs to handle it.

A fall may result in laptop screen to break; here are the few things to check. Begin with:

Inspect the Screen

Turn off the power; check the screen to see if there is any damage. You may check this by opening and closing it many times. Ensure it moves easily. Check for screen cracks or damaged areas. In case, the screen shows damaging screen signs outward, contact a computer retailer or the manufacturer for repairing.

Troubleshoot

Turn the laptop on see the screen. In case you see a faint or skewed image or no display on the screen, it is an issue. If nothing appears on the screen you may connect to an external monitor, a desktop computer. Or, If you are lucky you can see the external monitor functioning. Or, if so, this is an indication that the issue is with the laptop display on dropping the laptop.

In case you are unable to see on the external display the image, you can be assured that the issue is deeper.

Inverter Problems

In case, on the laptop screen, you notice a faint image or the image on the screen does not stay, it is due to backlight or a damaged inverter. You must adjust the screen brightness level so that you can eliminate the possibility of damaged brightness button. Anyhow, you must take your laptop to get it repaired to a manufacturer.

Motherboard Damage

The damaged motherboard is again a big issue. This happens on dropping the laptop. If the motherboard gets damaged you can see nothing on the screen, though your laptop is on. Even on connecting to an external monitor, you will see nothing.

Damage to motherboard appears as colored or a white screen, there will be other images making no sense or lines will be visible across the screen. There is a need to replace the motherboard and it should be done by a computer professional.
