LG Showcases its New 4K LG HU85LA Projector in Berlin with Better Color and Screen Size

Talking about projectors, this type of gadget is quite popular in this era. There are so many manufacturers that have produced projectors in various sizes and functions. Formerly, this kind of gadget was commonly used for presentation, but today users buy projectors for many purposes such as watching movies and play games on widescreen.

LG projector is one of the technologies that also comes with their new projectors. LG also enlivened the IFA 2019 event which took place in Berlin, Germany. Several brand-new devices were introduced, one of which was an ultra-short throw laser projector with its first 4K resolution.

The new projector from LG is called LG 4K UHD CineBeam Laser LG HU85LA Projector. Presented not only as a supporter of the creation of a home cinema, but it can also be used for presentations in the office.

Jang Ik-hwan, Head of LG IT Business Division, explained that this projector has wheel-less technology to produce better color accuracy by overcoming the limitations of Digital Light Processing (DLP) projector technology that uses color wheels.

“This technology eliminates the typical visual disturbances commonly encountered in the use of projectors. Among the visual disturbances referred to are like the appearance of the rainbow effect, foggy image display, and color distortion,” explained Jang.

He further explained the color reproduction of the LG HU85LA projector using an applied laser system with three channels. On the other hand, it makes this projector capable of reproducing red and blue colors separately with laser support. While the wheel-less laser technology produces green with the support of a separate blue source.

This unique configuration of color reproduction is claimed to improve color accuracy by achieving 97% of the DCI-P3 color space. Not only that, color processing up to 12 bits with lighting levels reaching 2,700 ANSI lumens, providing better image details which can make the image look alive.

Supporting Ultra Short Throw (UST) technology, it makes the LG HU85LA projector capable of projecting images in a wide-screen span with very close positioning of the projector. To project an image with a diagonal span of 90 inches, the LG HU85LA only requires a distance of 5.6 cm. While laying at a distance of 18 cm, allows users to enjoy viewing content in a 120-inch landscape.

LG also provides HDR10 support on the projector. Also, there is TruMotion technology to make images appear more natural. Ensuring that users have wider opportunities for various content to be displayed, the LG HU85LA projector is made with 4K upscale equipment. Working with six stages, this feature enhances the quality of content with Full HD sources for display in 4K quality.

“LG HU85LA projectors represent our efforts in pushing all the boundaries that have existed so far to set standards for modern projectors,” concluded Jang.
