DISAPPEARING TEXT MESSAGE BUG IS BEING ADDRESSED BY GOOGLE IN GOOGLE PIXEL 3

We have some great news for the users of Google’s Pixel 3 smartphone who had been complaining of having their text messages mysteriously and unexpectedly disappearing from their phones.

There have been numerous reports surfacing online of users of Google Pixel 3 Android phone claiming that they started noticing unexplainable disappearances of their messages from their phones, especially soon after they updated to the November 5 version for the Pixel smartphones. One would have thought that Google Pixel 3 should be above such glitches considering how much it costs, but it is happening and it has been happening for a while.

Some users have reported that they had certain messages disappearing from their phones, while others have claimed to have had all their messages erased completely, including entire chat threads dating back years. Similarly, some users didn’t just have texts disappearing but also had pictures randomly disappearing from their Google Pixel 3.

It is not yet clear however what may be responsible for these disappearances or unexplainable deletions of texts and/or photos from the smartphone. There have been certain speculations that, since a large number of these SMS disappearances occurred after the November 5 Pixel update, then it must be that whatever is wrong must be traceable to that particular security update. But not everyone accepts this theory since a number of Pixel 3 users have complained that they had been experiencing these disappearances before the November 5 update took effect.

On a positive note though, a temporary fix to the disappearance of texts messages from the Google Pixel Smartphone seems to have been discovered by some users who claimed to have been fortunate enough to have their lost SMSs retrieved after rolling back their Android SMS app to the earlier version, but the keyword is ‘some’, since not everyone who has done it have been met with success.

The comforting news now, however, is that Google is working hard to address this glitch in their Pixel 3 smartphone. A Google representative has acknowledged on behalf of the company that they have been made aware of this problem and that they are pretty close to addressing it permanently.

The said Google spokesperson has been widely reported to have said they have recently been made aware of the bug affecting users’ SMS and MMS on a handful of Pixel 3 devices and that the fix for the glitch would be rolled very soon. Hopefully, the fix would be rolled out this year, without users having to experience these discomforts in 2019.
