The sky is the limit when it comes to the price you could potentially pay for a gaming laptop.

But that doesn’t mean that you should pay the highest price possible.

It all depends on what you want out of a gaming laptop.

Not all laptops are made equally nor is the most powerful laptop even necessary for all types of gaming.

It’s not high-end or low-end, but right in the middle. The Asus TUF Gaming FX505 is one of the best mid-range gaming laptops we’ve ever seen, and in this article we’ll help convince you of its best features. This should be able to help you make a decision as to whether or not it is the right gaming laptop for you.

Right off the bat, you notice that Asus makes some fine gaming laptops. This is one of their entry-level models and it’s better than most offerings from competitors.

The design is nothing out of the ordinary but is nonetheless sleek and compact, portable enough without being fragile feeling.

As far as the screen goes, the laptop comes with a 15.6 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel matte display. The processor is a Intel Coffee Lake Core i7-8750H CPU with 16GB memory.

The trackpad and keyboard are similarly sturdy and should offer a long consumer life if taken care of properly – then again, most gamers will probably add their own accessories to the laptop so this might not be as big a deal to those gamers.

As for a daily laptop, it runs well and is relatively energy efficient though you might notice it gets pretty hot after some long gaming sessions. Wireless fidelity is excellent and users shouldn’t have problems playing online titles.

The only time the laptop starts to breakdown is when it has run an intense game for a while. Then it gets loud and the fans are noticeable, as well as the heat it puts off. This is a common drawback for gaming laptops and the Asus TUF Gaming FX505 doesn’t escape it. The tradeoff here is that the Asus TUF Gaming FX505 is offered at a budget price for what it brings to the table.

Whether or not the Asus TUF Gaming FX505 is right for you or not really boils down to whether or not you want to spend more money for something similar to accept less of a laptop for the same price. The complaints you can lodge against the FX505 could be made against any gaming laptop, but what you will be hard pressed to find is a laptop at this price with these capabilities.

It’s not an entry level product by any means but it is great for someone who has never owned a gaming laptop before. It will meet most needs and, outside of gaming, is more than capable of handling any Internet-based application or even traditional productivity software. The Asus TUF Gaming FX505 is a great value for the money and something we recommend to gamers in the market for something new.
